About Our Town

Richland Springs is a small, historic town nestled in the rolling hills of San Saba County, Texas. Founded in the mid-19th century near the springs on Richland Springs Creek, our community grew as a supply center for local cotton growers and cattlemen.

Today, with a population of around 250–360 residents, we remain a close-knit rural community proud of our heritage, agricultural roots, and especially our legendary six-man football program—the Richland Springs Coyotes, winners of multiple state championships.

Whether you're a resident, visitor, or friend of the Coyotes, we welcome you to our corner of the Texas Hill Country.
